Mexican police investigate body found in Canal Bacanora in SLRC
Mexican authorities investigate the violent death of a man whose body was found floating in the canal with a gunshot wound to his head on September 7.
La Tribuna de San Luis reports the body was found in the Canal Bacanora at the height of Cheque Ocho in San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexico.
Reports said the victim, a 36-year-old man, was kidnapped in Mexicali and shot in the head. However, police are investigating if he was killed in Sonora or Baja California.
The victim’s relatives said they do not have a reason for his murder.
According to Tribuna de San Luis, police are investigating where the victim was killed, but do not discard the idea that it happened in Mexicali.
Police said they believe the body was thrown into the canal that passes through Colonia Miguel Aleman, where his body was found floating in “El Bacanora.”
