Deputies: Inmate dies after he’s booked in jail
The suspect arrested in connection to the armed robbery at a Yuma bank Friday evening died after being booked into the Yuma County Adult Detention Center.
The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office ( YCSO ) confirmed detention officers responded to the inmate Friday night and called for assistance. The inmate was then transported to the hospital where he later died, according to YCSO .
The suspect allegedly robbed First Bank Yuma Friday evening, according to the Yuma Police Department. YPD said the suspect told the teller he had a gun and demanded money.
YCSO is currently investigating the incident.
