Fugitive couple pleads not guilty to murder

The Arizona couple who spent two weeks eluding authorities says they’re not guilty of murder.

56-year-old Blane Barksdale and his 59-year-old wife Susan, both face murder, burglary, and arson charges in connection to the death of a Tucson man. During a video arraignment on Friday, both pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Police in upstate New York arrested the Barksdales in May. In August the couple escaped while returning to Arizona to stand trial. They spent

U.S. Marshals finally caught up with them on September 11th in Tonto Basin. That’s about 88-miles northeast of Phoenix.
