Yuma woman pleads guilty to shooting
Guilty – that’s the plea Tracy Lynn Vanaken entered Tuesday in a Yuma courtroom.
Police say Vanaken opened fire on her boyfriend back in April. No one got hurt, but police arrested her on charges of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal damage, and disorderly conduct.
Today she pleaded guilty to reduced charges of aggravated assault as part of an agreement with prosecutors.
Vanaken faces three and a half years in prison when sentenced in October.
