Plane crashes into building near Maricopa

Update: A small plane crashed into a building at a regional airport southeast of Phoenix this morning. Miraculously, no one was seriously hurt.

It happened at the Ak-Chin Regional Airport near Maricopa. That’s about 44-miles southeast of Phoenix.

3TV / CBS5 in Phoenix reports the plane slammed into a flight operations building.

One person was inside at the time, but was not hurt.

Paramedics took the two people aboard the plane to this hospital, but neither suffered serious injury.

The Federal Aviation Administration says the single-engine aircraft crashed shortly after take off. It’s still unclear what went wrong, but the FAA is investigating.
