Actress could face jail time for college scandal

Federal prosecutors want Oscar-nominated actress Felicity Huffman to serve jail time for her role in the college admissions scanda l.

In court paperwork filed today, prosecutors asked a judge to sentence Huffman to a month in jail, and a fine of $20,000.

The actress pleaded guilty earlier this year of bribing a proctor $15,000 to correct an answer on her daughter’s SAT exam.

In addition to the jail time and the fine, prosecutors want her to spend a year on supervised release.

Defense attorneys are pushing for a year of probation and 250-hours of community service, as well as the fine.

They say Huffman is deeply remorseful.
