Yuma Sector BP recover stolen gun and seize drugs

A 55-year-old from Lakeside, Ariz., was arrested Friday by agents after discovering a stolen gun and five grams of methamphetamine in the vehicle.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said Wellton Station agents working at the checkpoint referred a white 2010 Scion xB to secondary inspection following a canine alert.

CBP said agents discovered a 9 MM Taurus handgun and methamphetamine. Record checks on the pistol revealed it to be stolen.

The driver was arrested for possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a controlled substance.
