Ways to save when you are living paycheck to paycheck

According to experts, the average American is struggling to make ends meet each month, with 59% of U.S. adults saying they live paycheck to paycheck. In addition, many have a hard time paying off student loans and credit card debt, letting interest pile up.

Experts also say that a good way to cut back on expenses is to decide what you want versus what you need.

A good way to start is by writing down everything that you’re spending on and to sort them in order of importance. Then decide if there is anything worth cutting out. Are you eating takeout too much? Do you buy too many clothes?

If there are some things that you can do on your own, it can help to do them yourself instead of paying for them. This includes things like dining out, cleaning and laundry services and going to the salon to get manicures.
