Family offers reward for return of beloved pet, taken at gas station

A heartbroken family is offering a $300 reward for the safe return of their beloved pet Chihuahua.

The family was recently at the Calexico ARCO gas station on North Imperial and Fifth Street. The pet Chihuahua jumped out of the car without the family noticing.

A store video shows the pet walking near a van with strangers. It can be seen jumping into that van and soon after the van takes off.

The family said Becky, their Chihuahua, was probably lured into the van. They’ve had Becky for 10 years. She’s part of the family.

Yvette Ruiz, Becky’s owner, has a message for the people they believe took their Becky.

” I simply want to get my Becky back. We’ve been with her for over ten years. She’s part of my family. We want to talk to the person who took her so we can square this away, ” Yvette Ruiz said.

The family asks the public to contact them or the police if they see their pet or if they recognize those people that allegedly took her.

Anyone with information can call the owners of the dog at 760-886-2424.
