Motorcyclist suffers life threatening injuries

The Yuma Police Department ( YPD ) responded to a vehicle collision involving a motorcycle Thursday evening.

YPD say they responded to a vehicle collision on 24th Street and 21st Drive at approximately 4:35 p.m. Officers say the driver of a blue 2018 Chevy Silverado pickup truck was traveling eastbound, attempted to make a left turn from 24th Street onto 21st Drive, when the truck was struck by a westbound motorcycle in the #1 lane.

The 32-year-old motorcyclist suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. The 22-year-old driver of the pickup truck was uninjured.

YPD believe speed could be a factor in the collision.

Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to contact the Yuma Police Department at (928)373-4700.
