Walmart donates water to YFD

The Walmart located on 2501 South Avenue B donated 15 cases of water to the Yuma Fire Department (YFD) to keep them hydrated and healthy, Wednesday.

According to YFD, the water will be used to keep their firefighters and others on fire scenes. Staying hydrated is critically important when faced with the combination of Yuma’s summertime weather and the physical demands of fighting fires.

YFD said the Walmart Asset Protection Manager, Emilio Escobar brought the supply of water to the station where it will be used on the firefighters specially designed “rehab” vehicle. The vehicle has been in service for several years and was built in house by YFD personnel from a converted delivery truck that responds to incident scenes to provide cooling, hydration, and medical monitoring of personnel.

YFD stated they are thankful for community partners like Walmart and others who support and enhance the abilities to respond to public safety incidents in the area.
