ICFD responds to a two structure fire in Winterhaven

On Thursday morning the Imperial County Fire Department responded to a two structure fire in Winterhaven , Calif., at the 511 block of 1st Street.

ICFD said they discovered two structures on fire and a third partially involved. A second-alarm fire was requested as utility companies to render power and gas safe for their personnel.

Firefighters said no injuries were reported.

Due to the proximity of the fire to a power substation, power had to be turned off for the entire town. Firefighters said after the fire was under control, power was restored with the exception of one resident who is expected to be powered back by Imperial Irrigation District within the next hour.

According to ICFD , the fire was assisted by Yuma Fire, Yuma Rural Metro Fire, Yuma Marine Fire Department, and AMR Ambulance Service.
