“National Night Out” event brings community and law enforcement together

El Centro residents can seize the opportunity to get to know the men and women in blue who keep them safe in the community at Tuesday night’s “National Night Out” event at Bucklin Park.

The event is free to the public and filled with free food and music and an interactive zone for kids.

Law enforcement will display the vehicles they use to fight crime and answer questions from the community.

Commander Aaron Reel of the El Centro Police Department said about the event that, “It kind of breaks down the barriers between law enforcement and the community. The perceived barriers at least. We want to be approachable we want to people. That we love them, and we want to interact with them. And this opportunity just promotes that.”
