Yuma Sector BP rescued a man struggling to swim

Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents rescued a Honduran man that struggled to stay afloat in the Salinity Canal near County 9th Street on Saturday after following his illegal entry into the United States.

A press release provided by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection ( CBP ), a Yuma station agent deployed a rescue bag and pulled the man out of the water. The man immediately collapsed from exhaustion and agents notified the Emergency Medical Services after he began spitting up water. Agents said the man was transported to the nearest hospital for further care.

CBP reported the man was cleared from the hospital the next day and was processed for immigration violations.
