Late summer vacations for families
There are still a few weeks of summer vacation left, giving families more opportunities for a getaway before the kids head back to school.
All of this comes as good news since travel experts said there’s an advantage for booking travel plans in August.
According to NBC News, studies show resorts and hotels are offering bargains for late summer vacationers due to the demand dropping.
Kirsten Maxwell founded the online website Kids Are A Trip, which promotes affordable family vacations.
“It’s really not too hard to do I mean a staycation.. just go down the road and try something new, book a resort nearby and have a fun weekend away from home,” said Maxwell.
Experts add it might be smart to stay clear of cruising the Caribbean in August due to the high risks of hurricanes. As well as staying in Europe due to airline tickets which increase this month.
Scott Mayerowitz, the editorial director of The Points Guy said being flexible with your destinations works to your advantage. He shares families are more likely to find deals wherever vacancy signs are out for late summer vacations in August.
