Border Patrol agents seize more than 119 pounds of drugs
U.S. Border Patrol agents in Campo, California seized more than 119-pounds of drugs Thursday evening.
Border Patrol agents say a grey Mazda 3 approached the Interstate 8 checkpoint Thursday at approximately 7:35 p.m.
A 33-year-old U.S. citizen was said to be driving the vehicle. Agents questioned the driver while a K-9 team performed a sniff of the vehicle. The K-9 sniff resulted in an alert, where the driver was then sent to secondary inspection.
A K-9 performed a second sniff of the vehicle where agents were alerted near the trunk compartment. Agents say they searched and discovered 114 plastic-wrapped bundles in the vehicle’s door and rear-quarter panels.
The bundles contained 119-pounds of meth valued at $237,700.
