Felon arrested after he allegedly steals vehicle
Yuma police arrested a man suspected of stealing a vehicle near County 15th Street and Highway 95 on Wednesday.
According to the Yuma Police Department (YPD), at 11:53 a.m., Yuma police officers were observing a vehicle that was stolen at the 1400 block of the East 16th Street.
Officers tracked the vehicle at Avenue A and County 15th Street. The driver, David Garcia, attempted to run from officers and was eventually taken into custody, said YPD.
Garcia and a passenger were transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The Department of Public Safety also confirmed they issued felony warrants for his arrest for burglary and weapons violation.
Garcia is expected to be in court on Thursday morning.
