Store robbed at gunpoint, suspect wore ski mask
Westmorland Police are looking for a man they said walked into Sol Market on Main Street around 2:45 a.m. on Monday.
Chief Perry Monita said, “He was wearing a black hoodie and a black ski mask, also had gloves on.”
Police said the suspect allegedly threatened one of the two workers in the store.
“He approached the clerk, brandished a handgun to the clerk, asked for the money,” Monita said.
Police said the clerk was scared but did the right thing.
“Luckily, she followed his instructions, gave him the money, then left the store and was last seen running northbound across Main Street,” Monita said.
The amount of money taken was not given. No other property was lost or damaged during the incident. Police described the suspect.
“Height, was medium build, was about 5’8″ to 5’10 ” , in that range, ” Monita said.
Local authorities are asking the public for support in identifying the suspect.
“If they happen to hear possibly through word of mouth or over Facebook or any other type of social media who might be claiming to do it or if they heard someone else that they heard who might’ve committed the robbery,” Monita said.
