YPD arrest a man for allegedly firing shots outside Jack in the Box

Sirens could be heard traveling down Avenue B in Yuma early Friday morning after a disturbance was reported at a Yuma Jack in the Box location.

The Yuma Police Department said shots were fired as the suspect, identified as 27- year-old Alexander Soto, ran to his home located yards away from the fast food restaurant.

Officers were heard telling Soto over the loudspeaker that he was ” under arrest. ”

Soto was later escorted out of his home by officers and arrested early Friday morning near 16th Street and Avenue B.

Soto made his initial appearance in Yuma Justice Court Friday afternoon where Judge Gregory Stewart revealed shots were allegedly fired from a 9mm gun that officers were able to locate.

Judge Stewart also detailed that officers said Soto was under the influence when he was arrested.

He was arrested on two charges of disorderly conduct. His bond was set at $15,000.

Soto is expected back in court on Tuesday afternoon.
