Paws on hot cement can cause serious injuries

During the hottest summer months in Arizona, the Humane Society of Yuma (HSOY) is advising pet owners not to walk your pets outside in the hot cement.

HSOY said the heat can cause destroy an animal’s paws and cause severe injuries that can lead to surgery.

Lana Shapiro, The Director at the Humane Society of Yuma said, “If an owner is going to walk their dogs outside, I would advise them to put the shoes and walk them as early as they can that way the cement is not so hot”.
