2 year-old found by window sill unsupervised

On Sunday morning the El Centro Police Department received a report about a two-year-old hanging from a window without supervision.

ECPD arrived to the scene and determined the child was playing by the window sill.

ECPD said the Imperial County Child Protective Services were called to the home after they believed there may have been a lack of children supervision.

The 2-year-old was the woman’s nephew. She also had four other kids in her care, ages ranging from 6 to 15.

ECPD says two of those children are her foster children.

Initial police log reports say the woman was sleeping and intoxicated when police arrived.

ECPD says they cannot confirm if the woman was intoxicated because a blood alcohol test was not given to the woman.

CPS determined the children were safe to stay in the woman’s care and will follow up on the case.

Charges against the woman were filed with the Imperial County District Attorney’s Office for review.
