Stolen therapy pig comes home

A therapy pig stolen from her owner’s yard is once again safe at home.

Sydney Forestal says Barbie was in her yard in southeast Albuquerque Wednesday when someone tossed her into the bed of their black truck and drove off. Forestal ran outside and ran after the truck, but wasn’t able to catch up with the vehicle.

Barbie is known for participating in yoga classes and is a therapy pig at Mandy’s Farm – a place for people with developmental disabilities to live, learn and grow.

A massive search was launched, and friends even worked together to offer a $5,000 reward for Barbie’s safe return.

Fortunately, Erica Alderate was already aware of the case when she heard strange sounds coming from the abandoned house next to her own.
