Heavy traffic expected ahead of President Trumps visit in Calexico
President Donald Trump is visiting the southern border in Calexico on Friday to brief and tour the newly completed two-mile stretch of fencing.
The fence is made up of bollard-style fencing and is widely touted as what will be the first section of president Trump’s border wall.
Trump is expected to arrive at Naval Air Force Base in El Centro at 11:45 a.m. and he will then hold a roundtable discussion with local and federal government officials.
Traffic surrounding the areas of the Calexico Port of Entry and the Naval Air Force Base in El Centro is expected to slow down.
Officials say border wait times are expected to have a one-hour delay to as much as several hours.
