Remembering local Yuma attorney John Minore

John Minore, a Yuma attorney known for his contributions to our community, has passed away at the age of 56.

Close friend and colleague, Jim Carroll share his memories with Minore, including his final words, moments before he passed away.

“John was a fantastic guy, if you needed help, he would go out of his way to help you. I’m so lucky I got four years with him,” said Carroll.

Carroll remebers his favorite memory with his dear friends including the daily lunches after working several hours.

“He would tell me some of the greatest stories and adventures he had, the dude had so much going for him,” said Carroll.

On Valentine’s Day, Carroll received a call from Minore that changed everything.

“He had called me from his home in the foothills, he said his blood pressure was low and that he would call the ambulance,” said Carroll.

Carroll hopes that Minore’s legacy will carry on for future generations to come.

“He was a very generous man to the city, he’s told me he wanted the city to improve, to grow, to be prosperous and he wanted the youth to continue their education,” said Carroll.

Minore was involved in several organizations around the community, including the Freedom Library, the Yuma Regional Medical Center and Crossroads Mission. Minore passed away at the age of 56 due to heart complications. Carroll said that the funeral arrangements are being made and that services will be open to the public. They are expecting five hundred people to attend the services.
