Car club hosts teddy bear benefit for children in hospitals
A trip to the hospital can be scary for children. But one local car club is making it easier for them as they recover.
The Foothill Cruisers hosted their fourth annual teddy bear benefit that raises money to buy teddy bears for children in our local hospitals.
Hundreds of car lovers came out support the car club and checked out all the best classic cars the desert southwest had to offer on display.
Doris Casey, a member of the Foothills Cruisers said, “Kids come into the hospital very frightened. And they understand teddy bears and they like the comfort of them and it brings smiles to their face. And so it’s a good way to make kids happy and make them feel more comfortable when they’re in the hospital.”
Last year the Foothill Cruisers raised enough money to buy 700 teddy bears and they’re looking to beat that number this year.
