Robbery suspect leads El Centro police on chase
Police stopped an robbery suspect after he led officers on a chase through El Centro on Friday.
El Centro police officers responded to Target on North Imperial Avenue for reports of an in-progress robbery, authorities confirmed.
When officers arrived, the suspect and his vehicle were located. Officers made an attempt to stop the suspect, but were unsuccessful, according to El Centro PD.
The suspect led officers on a chase for several more miles. The pursuit ended at Walgreens in El Centro, according to authorities.
Police said the suspect, identified as Robert Strauss, fought with officers. Strauss was arrested and booked into jail.
