New hospital to be built in Tucson and create 600 jobs

Plans are underway for a new hospital in Tucson that could bring as many as 600 jobs.

The Arizona Daily Star reported Monday that Northwest Healthcare is building a hospital on the city’s southeast side.

The 183,000-square-foot facility will house 70 beds and offer related medical services.

Northwest Healthcare officials believe the economic impact could be as much as $567 million over the next five years.

The hospital is slated to open sometime in 2021.
