Fatal two-vehicle wreck near Arizona-New Mexico border

Authorities say a 5-mile stretch of westbound Interstate 10 in southeastern Arizona is closed because of a fatal two-vehicle wreck near the Arizona-New Mexico border.

The state Department of Public Safety said one person was killed in the early Tuesday morning wreck, and the agency posted a photo on social media showing a tractor-trailer rig on fire.

The Arizona Department of Transportation said westbound traffic was exiting I-10 at milepost 382 and re-entering the freeway at milepost 378 and that it didn’t know when the freeway would reopen.

San Simon is 102 miles (164 kilometers) east of Tucson.

Trooper Kameron Lee said cause of the crash is under investigation.
