Junior College football ends in Arizona

The domino effect has swiped Junior College football out of the state of Arizona.

The end of Junior College football has become a reality in the state of Arizona after Tuesday night’s announcement that Eastern Arizona has officially cut their program.

Arizona Western College announced they were cutting their program last week. The college blamed it on the league and insufficient funds to keep the program going.

Eastern Arizona was the only junior college left in the state with the sport, but due to its’ financial burden and the collapse of the rest of the league, the program has also ended.

The Western States Football league consisted of eight teams this season, seven in Arizona and one in Utah. Before the announcement of Eastern Arizona dropping the program, the league had already dropped six of the teams.
