Fire breaks out overnight at Calexico Swap Meet

A fire broke out in Calexico overnight on Saturday.

According to the Imperial County Fire Association’s Facebook page, the fire happened in the area of West Birch Street and Pruett Road where the San Tomas Swap Meet is hosted. The fire was considered a four-alarm fire and was contained shortly after. There is still no confirmation in what could have started the fire or if anyone was injured in the incident.

According to our Imperial Valley Reporter, Calexico City Council will hold an emergency meeting with vendors in what needs can be fulfilled from the damages.
