Police: 9 handguns stolen from Chandler store now recovered

Chandler police say 21 handguns were stolen earlier this week by two suspects.

All but nine guns were recovered after the man and woman were arrested.

Police say the nine missing weapons were found in various locations on the Gila River Indian Community south of Phoenix.

Chandler police say 32-year-old Miguel Gomez and 26-year-old Alicia Gonzalez were in a stolen pickup truck that crashed through the front entrance of a store that sells firearms about 11 p.m. Monday.

The two suspects then allegedly shattered the glass on the display cases, took 21 handguns and fled the scene on foot.
