Yuma Police: Results from impaired detail released

The Yuma Police Department conducted an impaired driving detail on Wednesday, November 21, through Saturday, November 24, with the help from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.

The focus was on impaired driving and the apprehension of impaired drivers.

During this detail, YPD had a total of 15 extra officers working throughout the weekend and they conducted 124 traffic stops which resulted in:

9 total DUI Arrests, 8 for Misdemeanor DUI (3 were extreme) and 1 DUI drugs. 22 sober designated drivers contacted. 38 speeding citations issued 1 of them for Criminal Speed. 100 violations cited for other than speeding. 8 other arrests.

The average BAC was 0.143.
