Court Report:’Truck Stop Predator’ formally charged

A 30-year-old man who was caught attempting to have sex with a minor was formally charged in court on Wednesday.

Earlier this week the Facebook group ‘Truckers Against Predators’ known as TAP, met up with Matthew Sanchez at Luv’s gas station after sending messages and explicit photos to a decoy, attempting to have sex with a 13-year-old girl. The act was also caught on Facebook live.

In court, he was formally charged with four felonies including luring a minor for sex.

Sanchez’s Defense Attorney expressed the case is different considering the ‘Truckers Against Predators’ does not work with law enforcement and is citizen-based.

His attorney also expressed the court should follow due process and should remain innocent until proven guilty, considering Sanchez turned himself into authorities shortly after the incident.

His bond remains at 100,000 dollars with his next hearing next Thursday, November 29th.
