MCAS in Yuma informs community about exercise

The Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma is scheduled to conduct a Vigilant Shield 19-1 exercise on Monday, November 5, 2018.

The exercise is a field training that evaluates MCAS Yuma’s response measures and validates selected law enforcement and emergency medical service tasks. As part of the training, leadership will activate its Command Operations Center on base which will respond to numerous simulated threats throughout the exercise.

Base units such as the Provost Marshal’s Office, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, the Marine Corps Air Station Yuma Fire Department, and other military and civilian organizations will come together to participate in this training.

The Yuma County Airport Authority, Rural Metro, and Cocopah Indian Tribe also plan to contribute to the exercise to increase interoperability.
