Arizona Cities and Towns Week is here
This week, the cities of Arizona that include Yuma will be participating in this year’s “Arizona Cities and Towns Week”.
Mayor Nicholls announced that Yuma would take part in the 17th annual event at last week’s City Council meeting.
Created by the “League of Arizona Cities and Towns,” this week the community is encouraged to reflect on and celebrate the jobs our city does for us every day.
The “Arizona Cities and Towns Week” began October 21 and end on Saturday, October 27. On social media, the city of Yuma is hosting a “Department of the Day” recognition where locals can leave comments along with suggestions for the city. Many of these services provided by our city are ones that we often take for granted.
“Your water service, you’re always expecting that tap water to work every time you turn the tap water on and the toilet to flush and the sewage to go down without a problem. It actually takes people who work for the city of Yuma to make sure that the treatment plants at the other end of those pipes are operating optimally,” said Dave Nash, City of Yuma.
Some other services include building safety, community planning, recreation programs, and arts and culture activities.
