Yuma Art Center begins auditions for dinner theatre play

In February, the Yuma Art Center will be presenting a dinner theatre production of “Almost, Maine” by John Cariani.

Before production preparation can begin, however , open auditions will take place on Sunday , October 21 from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. and Monday 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Historic Yuma Theatre.

This is the 9th year the Yuma Art Center is converting their galleries into a full-service dinner theatre stage.

According to the Yuma Art Center Facebook page, “The cast for ‘Almost, Maine’ includes a minimum of two women and two men, all between the ages of 20-55 years old.”

Those interested in auditioning and being part of the cast must be available for evening rehearsals on weekdays November through February.

The production is directed by the Yuma Art Center’s Theatre Fellow, Ann Wilkinson.

According to the Art Center, “Wilkinson has worked in the entertainment industry since 1978, starting out as an actress and then co-owning an independent casting company in Los Angeles.”

To date, Wilkinson remains active in the film community, serves on the Arizona-Utah Board of the Screen Actors Guild, and is currently working at Arizona Western College.
