Man with meth strapped to legs arrested at checkpoint

Border Patrol agents arrested a Mexican national after he was found with methamphetamine strapped to his legs at the Interstate 8 immigration checkpoint.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, a shuttle bus was referred to secondary inspection at around 8:15 a.m. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the bus and a 47-year-old passenger was found with about three pounds of methamphetamine, strapped to his legs. The drugs had an estimated street value of $9,127.

He was arrested for transporting a controlled substance. The shuttle van and the other passengers were released at the scene.
