YPD to host ‘Coffee with a Cop’ day for community

The Yuma Police Department and community members are inviting everyone to discuss community issues, build relationships and drink coffee with a cop on Wednesday, October 3, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.

This event will p rovide a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the department’s work in the City of Yuma neighborhoods.

YPD said the majority of contacts law enforcement has with the public happens during emergencies or emotional situations and those situations are not always the most effective times for relationship building with the community and some community members may feel that officers are unapproachable.

Coffee with a Cop breaks down barriers and allows for a relaxed, one-on-one interaction.

The event will be at Goldsboro Bakery located at 2345 S. Avenue A.
