Pedestrian dead after hit and run collision
UPDATE:
YCSO said it has located the vehicle involved in the fatality collision that occurred on Saturday night and t he Criminal Investigation Bureau has interviewed the driver.
This was with the assistance of the public.

ORIGINAL STORY:
The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision on South Highway 95 near Somerton on Saturday night.
According to a YCSO press release, at about 11:40 P.M., a pedestrian identified as 68-year-old Rafael Mesta Beltran of San Luis, AZ was crossing Highway 95 at the entrance to Cocopah Casino.
A blue Toyota truck traveling south on Highway 95 struck Beltran and continued to drive without stopping.
Beltran was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center with life threatening injuries and later died.
Beltran’s family has been notified.
This case is still under investigation and it is unknown whether alcohol was a factor.
