A “sea of scams” dupes customers in Arizona

Many seafood lovers were disappointed after purchasing tickets to an all you can eat crab and lobster fest in Phoenix, only to find that the “restaurant” was an empty warehouse.

The Phoenix crab and lobster fest was set to be on Sunday September 2 from 12 P.M. to 12 A.M. on 3011 E. Broadway Road.

According to the eticket website for this event, there were six dinner packages available priced from $30 to $60 each.

According to the website, this ticket included “All you can eat Steamed Crab and Whole Lobster during your 3-hour seating option,” in addition to drinks and sides.

At the bottom of the website, all six ticket options show that they have been sold out.

On the website for the “Crab and Lobster Feast”, when clicking the social links to Facebook, Twitter and instagram none of the pages for that account exist.

Many sorry customers made the drive from as far as Sierra Vista and here in Yuma before realizing that this event was a scam.

What’s even fishier, is that we were unable to find a phone number to contact the company and an email that was sent to the company was returned stating that email did not exist.

A statement put out by the eticket company (that was not the company behind the event), tells customers “We’ve also been in contact with ticket holders after recently being made aware of the alleged scam and suspended the related account as soon as we were informed.”
The eticket company advises anyone affected by the scam to contact paypal or their bank directly for refunds.
