High-risk search warrant underway at Barkley Ranch neighborhood

News 11 spoke to authorities regarding the search warrant at 27th Lane of the Barkley Ranch neighborhood Friday evening.

“We’re looking for a subject that has a felony warrant out of another state,” YPD’s Sgt. Lori Franklin said. “We have our special enforcement team out here. We are making announcements to the residents in order to try to get the suspect out of there…”

Authorities announced the individual’s name who had barricaded themselves inside a home in the neighborhood.

The Yuma Police Department is currently assisting the U.S. Marshals with a high-risk search warrant at the Barkley Ranch neighborhood Friday evening.

Authorities are advising the public to stay away from the area. For residents in the neighborhood, Yuma police are asking people to stay in their homes until the warrant is concluded.
