Imperial County firefighters assisting with fire near Yosemite National Park

Firefighters from the Imperial County Fire Department are currently assisting with the fire happening near Yosemite National Park on Wednesday.

Fire officials said the fire department responded to assist with the Ferguson fire at Mariposa County next to Yosemite National Park with a single resource water tender on Monday. The fire was at 9,000 acres and three percent contained when two firefighters from Imperial County arrived on Monday.

Authorities said the fire is currently at more than 17,000 acres and five percent contained.
