YCSO notifies community of sex offender

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office is releasing information on a sex offender living in Yuma County.

The offender is 60-year-old Jose Ibarra, who was convicted of Luring a Minor for Sexual Exploitation, a dangerous crime against children; and three counts of Public Sexual Indecency to a Minor.

He is described as five feet, seven inches tall, 165 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He is not wanted by the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office at this time.

Ibarra is on lifetime probation with the Yuma County Adult Probation. The victims were three female juveniles, ages eight , nine and 14.

Ibarra is a level three sex offender with a high risk to re-offend.

This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather, it is YCSO’s belief that an informed community is a safer community.
