Littlewood Arts and Community is squashing gender role stereotypes by bringing Drag Stars series
“I feel like this is a renaissance period and people are more open to different art avenues and people are really bending the barrier,” shared Lia Littlewood.
Littlewood Art and Community Co-Op are squashing gender role stereotypes by introducing their newest drag series, drag stars.
“After our pride event was such a success we decided we need to give this art venue a bigger show.”
The pride event in Yuma brought in nearly 1,000 attendees.
But for this event, four ladies will lay their talents on the big stage.
“So we have Faffey , we have Tino, we have Jezzabelle and we have Ethan… we are so excited,” shared Littlewood.
Joining the fun this Saturday is also Speakerminds, a musical band all the way from Portland, Oregon.
Overall, Littlewood co-Op wants to make sure their venue is a place where people feel safe to be themselves.
“People are scared to come out people are scared to be who they are…And that is what we are trying to create, a sense of security here where people can feel free to feel how they want to feel,” said Littlewood.
Drag Stars debuts Saturday, July 13th from 9 pm-11 pm at Littlewood Fine Art and Community Co-Op with a $5.00 cover fee at the door.
