Suspects arrested in Somerton linked to Yuma shooting

UPDATE (5:23 P.M.)

Two suspects have been arrested in Somerton as authorities sought a person of interest linked to the shooting of two victims in Yuma Wednesday afternoon, according to the Somerton Police Department.

Police said one more suspect is presumed to still be hiding at Valley Mobile Village, an RV park located at 560 N. Somerton Avenue.

Authorities are still at the scene located in the area of Fulton Street and Somerton Avenue.

Authorities are in the area of Fulton Street and Somerton Avenue looking for a person of interest linked to the shooting of two victims in Yuma Wednesday afternoon, according to the Somerton Police Department.

We received reports of a lockdown placed at Somerton Middle School Wednesday afternoon that has since been lifted.

The Yuma Police Department, Somerton Police Department, and ATF are currently at the scene.

ORIGINAL STORY

The Yuma Police Department said two people were shot Wednesday afternoon.

YPD said they received a call of shots fired at 12:02 p.m. near W. 21st Street and Avenue A.

Police said three cars were involved in the incident. One car struck All Seasons Florist back wall.

No suspects have been arrested at this time.

Officers said there is a soft lockdown at YRMC because they don’t have any suspects in custody and to protect the two injured.

The two suspects have non-life threatening injuries.
