Four suspects arrested following El Centro shooting
Four suspects were arrested following a shooting that happened in the area of the 300 block of South 6th Street on Monday, according to the El Centro Police Department.
An investigation revealed several persons of interest were being sought along with a suspect vehicle. Authorities said the suspects had ties to addresses in Heber, Calif. and Somerton, Ariz.
On Wednesday, a couple of vehicles associated with the addresses were stopped in separate traffic stops. One of the traffic stops conceded several suspects believed to be involved in the shooting and were arrested at the scene. Another traffic stop led to a possible suspect as well as a nine-millimeter handgun and a .22 caliber handgun.
Later the same evening two search warrants were served at the associated residences in Heber and Somerton to locate additional evidence.
Adriel Urias, Braulio Ramirez and Ruben Sevilla were arrested and booked into the Imperial County Jail. A 15-year-old resident of El Centro was also booked into Imperial County Juvenile Hall.
All of the arrested suspects were associated with the same criminal street gang and were booked for charges associated with the shooting incident including Conspiracy and Attempted Murder and Appropriate Gang Enhancements.
