Yuma Family shares memories of their mother who died in fatal car accident

“My mom is a very strong, loving, religious and has a lot of friends and family.” It’s the first thoughts that come to mind for Chris Patch, who lost his mother in a car accident. “She was there for us, she took care of us.” Maria Patch is a mother of four and had a passion for the arts and cosmetology. After moving from Guadalajara, Mexico to Yuma she started a family and married her husband John Patch for over 40 years. At the time of the accident, John was driving their car before being rear-ended by a tow truck. “They were inseparable, they like to travel to Mexico, Seattle, everything we did as a family.” Chris says his mother’s strength comes from dealing with hardship, losing her mother as a child, and battling cancer as an adult. “She had pre-cancer tumors. She was going through treatment, and she was winning and she was doing really good, besides the side effects she had to deal with but she’s very strong and it didn’t keep her doing what she loved” The Patch family’s hope is to move forward, but they know they are not the only ones who have lost in this tragedy. “Our hearts and prayers go out to the family and the wife and kids and the person who did this. I hope he realizes what he did has affected a lot of people not just ours but his own family too.” To help with funeral and medical expenses click here To read more details on the accident click here
