Border Patrol apprehends two convicted sex offenders
Two convicted sex offenders were apprehended by Border Patrol agents in Calexico on two separate occasions this week.
Agents noticed a man climbing over the international border fence at around 11:30 p.m. Monday. The man was arrested and transported to the El Centro station for processing.
Records check revealed that the man, Eduardo Murillo-Lobo, was a Honduras citizen. 21-year-old Murillo-Lobo had a previous conviction in 2015 for attempted sexual conduct with a minor and dangerous crimes against children.
Murillo-Lobo will be prosecuted for illegal entry into the United States.
The second incident occurred when agents saw a man enter the U.S. illegally near the Imperial Valley Outlets at around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday. Agents arrested the man who later was processed at the El Centro station.
The man was identified as 36-year-old Jesus Montejano-Robles who is a citizen of Mexico. Montejano-Robles had a felony conviction for rape by force/fear and was sentenced to three years in prison.
Montejano-Robles will be prosecuted for illegal entry into the United States.
