Text Threats

Recently trending, a woman from Phoenix charged with stalking a man after making threats over social media and sending him over 65,000 texts messages.

A crazy story that makes us think about our own experiences with online encounters. We spoke with local authorities about what exactly can be done if this happens to you.

What’s so interesting about the case from Phoenix, is that the woman arrested, wasn’t taken in until she allegedly broke into the man’s home. Making us wonder, why she wasn’t charged with making threats in the first place.

Threats like, “I’ll kill you” and “I want to bathe in your blood,” were sent to the unidentified man on the daily.

Sergeant Lori Franklin of Yuma Police Department said although she doesn’t know the case, there’s a good chance that these threats made were never actually reported until now.

Sgt. Franklin also adds that even if you feel like it’s not a big deal, it’s better to bring in the evidence before the situation escalates.
