E. coli outbreak reaches Minnesota

Ten cases of E. coli infection have now been reported in Minnesota and is now linked to the multi-state outbreak.

Residents reported becoming ill from April 20th through May 2nd with three hospitalized and two developing a potentially fatal complication that can include kidney failure.

Health officials connected the outbreak to romaine lettuce grown in Yuma, Ariz. which provides most of the romaine sold in the U.S. during the winter.

Symptoms of E. coli infection include stomach cramps and diarrhea, often with bloody stools.
